Join Aviva Arts Artistic Director Debórah Eliezer in-person at the Joe Goode Annex for the first-ever AudioBody: Embodied Sound Creation Workshop!
Saturday, May 31, 10 am - 4 pm
Explore recorded spoken word composition through embodied wellness practice. Learn how to make connections with ourselves and others in creative and fun ways.
How are you showing up at this moment? The voice is a bridge between the heart and the mind. Speaking is the result of breath, body, thought and imagination all working in concert to express ourselves. In this chaotic and often disempowering time we will practice ways to find, sustain and celebrate our voice.
Combining movement with audio recording, this workshop will use the improvisational movement vocabulary called The Viewpoints, personal journaling and vocal exercises as portals to discover greater authenticity and self-confidence. We will practice in groups, partners, and on our own. We’ll explore shared and individually sound comp and create audio rituals. This shared container for creativity will invite everyone to participate in a low-pressure environment. Take home your very own audio ritual.
No experience necessary, all bodies and abilities are welcome. Please let us know any access needs or dietary restrictions when you register.
Includes a light vegetarian lunch. Dress to move, bring a water bottle and a smart phone with a recording app.
